Meet the Team

Ashley Roberts, MSW, LICSW (Owner) BRAINERD | PILLAGER
Ashley Roberts is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and the founder of Redefyne Mental Health & Wellness, a rapidly growing, multi-location mental health practice based in Minnesota. What began as a solo private practice has expanded into a thriving organization with a team of dedicated clinicians committed to delivering high quality, client centered care across communities.
Ashley built Redefyne with a clear mission: to create a place where exceptional therapists can do meaningful work, grow sustainable careers, and feel genuinely supported. Her leadership blends clinical excellence with a deep understanding of business development, allowing her to scale services while maintaining a strong, values driven culture.
Known for her authentic and courageous leadership style, Ashley has a passion for breaking down barriers in the mental health field both for clients seeking care and for clinicians building their careers. She is especially committed to empowering women in leadership, fostering collaboration, and creating opportunities for growth within her organization and beyond.
In addition to overseeing operations and strategic growth, Ashley provides specialized clinical services, including comprehensive assessments and work within complex systems such as child welfare, family law and corrections. Her work is grounded in real-world experience, giving her a reputation for being both highly skilled and deeply relatable.
As a founder, clinician, and leader, Ashley continues to expand Redefyne’s reach while staying rooted in her core belief: when clinicians are supported and empowered, the quality of care for clients rises with them.
Audriana Bagwell, MSW, LICSW (Clinical Director)
BRAINERD
I specialize in working with folks who have experienced grief, loss, and childhood trauma. I love, love working with trauma and am passionate about holding space for folks suffering with child loss. My ideal client is someone who is really ready to work on themselves; ready to dig deep and get to the root of their challenges. Life is inherently painful, without a doubt. I can't take away your pain - but my hope is to help you to alleviate unnecessary suffering. I really leverage my personality as a therapist. I come to session as a full human, and I give you full permission and encourage you to do the same.
I do best with clients that are ready for change, that have tried talk therapy, but haven't quite found the relief/healing they're looking for. I am a trauma therapist through and through. I genuinely love collaborating with clients; curiously exploring life experiences and connecting dots. I have advanced EMDR training to work with folks that struggle with/cope with dissociation.
I prefer in-person therapy, as trauma therapy is tough (for me) to do online. If you’re ready to start your healing journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me. You don’t have to go through this alone.
Note: I enjoy playing with different colors in my hair, and don’t usually dress professionally. If that will make you uncomfortable (and you don’t want to work through that discomfort), I may not be the right therapist for you.

Catherine (Kate) Zhao, MSSW, LGSW
BRAINERD
As a clinical social worker, Catherine strives to empower individuals to see the best within themselves. She believes each individual holds innate dignity and there is no shame in asking for help. As a graduate of Columbia University, Catherine tailored her education to focus on substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. With a background of working in health care for nearly 10 years, she understands the complexities physical health can play on mental health. That is why she focuses on the whole picture, not just the presenting issue. Her approach is person-centered, meeting individuals where they are and working with them to meet the goals they have set out to achieve.
Sarah Huffstetler, MSW, LICSW
TELEHEALTH ONLY
Sarah is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a passion for helping individuals navigate through life’s challenges.
She received her Master of Social Work from The University of Hawaii at Manoa. With a background in treating anxiety, depression, interrelational struggles, personality disorders and life transitions, I specialize in providing trauma informed care using a person-centered approach. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Attachment theory to support clients in their healing journey.
My therapeutic style is rooted in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe in the power of building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and collaboration. I strive to help clients process and heal from past experiences while empowering them to make positive changes in their lives.
I am dedicated to helping develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and enhance interpersonal relationships. Through a holistic and integrative approach, I work with people to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier behaviors, and cultivate
self-awareness and resilience.
My goal is to support individuals in building a life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and aligned with their values and goals.

Lonna Dille, MSW, LGSW (Director of Operations)
PILLAGER
My name is Lonna, and I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) through the Minnesota Board of Social Work. I obtained my Master’s degree in Social Work from Boise State University in 2020. I meet individuals with a practical approach led by authenticity and compassion, with respect to each individual's cultural and diverse needs. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and understand each individual has their own needs, goals and motivations.
Two things I wish people knew about therapy: 1) You need to find someone you connect with and are comfortable with and 2) Don’t stop looking until you have found that therapist!
So here’s what you need to know about me to decide if I’m a good fit for you: I am feisty, caring, authentic, and am ready to help you get to the core of any issues you are facing. I am not everyone's cup of tea, and that's ok. I love working with people who are ready to dig in and work hard. The goal is to put in the hard work to get you back to your best self. We do this by using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Regulation) and Flash Technique to make processing trauma more manageable. If you're ready, I'm your gal. I served as a First Responder and Firefighter for 10 years and spent much of my career in Medical Social Work.
I am trained in Flash Technique, EMDR, and Couples Therapy.
Lindsey Weaver, MSW, LGSW
BRAINERD
Feeling overwhelmed by difficult experiences or facing challenges that make it hard to truly thrive? Hi, I'm Lindsey, a therapist dedicated to helping people of all ages find healing and create lasting positive change. I believe everyone deserves a safe and supportive space to process what they've been through and build a brighter future.

My approach is rooted in understanding the impact of trauma, and I strive to be genuine and completely non-judgmental in our work together. Whether you're navigating the aftermath of difficult events, struggling with anxiety, shame, grief, or the complexities of life transitions and ADHD, I'm here to walk alongside you.

Together, we'll focus on finding relief, building your inner strength, and rediscovering a sense of well-being that feels authentic to you. I tailor our sessions to your unique needs and offer powerful tools like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) – which can help reprocess distressing memories quickly – as well as the gentle Flash Technique, mindfulness practices, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Your comfort and confidentiality are paramount. I aim to create a genuine connection with you, bringing my whole self and clinical expertise to our sessions so you feel truly seen and supported. Outside of therapy, I enjoy staying active in nature, diving into a good book, and cherishing time with the people I love. I am also a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. Let's connect and explore how I can help you on your journey.

Madison Thene, MSW, LGSW
BRAINERD
I work with kids, teens, and young adults who have been through hard times and don’t always know how to carry them. Sometimes that looks like anxiety that won’t turn off. Sometimes it’s big emotions that seem to come out of nowhere. Sometimes it’s shutting down, avoiding, or pushing people away. And sometimes it’s just the quiet sense of “something’s not right,” without the words to explain it.
A lot of the clients I work with have experienced attachment trauma that makes with hard to trust, feel safe, or stay connected in relationships. Many families I meet love each other deeply but feel stuck in patterns that leave everyone feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or disconnected.
That’s where I come in.
I’m a very relational therapist. I care a lot about getting to know my clients as actual humans not just what they’re struggling with. I’m not here to sit across the room with a clipboard and nod. I’m often on the floor, in the game, in the conversation, building something real with you. I use Emotionally Focused Family Therapy techniques, Flash Technique, and play-therapy approaches to help process trauma and build stronger, safer connections – but honestly, how we do therapy depends a lot on you. Some days we’re talking. Some days we’re playing. And some days we’re laughing way more than you expected to in therapy.
I tend to connect especially well with those who are unsure about therapy or who have tried it before and didn’t feel like it fit. You don’t have to perform here. You don’t have to open up right away. You can be quiet, awkward, goofy, avoidant, skeptical… I’ll still show up for you. I will notice the small things. I will advocate for you. And I will help you and your family build meaningful connections.
If you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, engaged, a little goofy, and deeply committed to helping you feel understood – you’ll probably fit right in here.

Samantha (Sammi) McKay, MA, LPCC
BRAINERD
I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a master's degree in counseling from the University of North Dakota. I'm passionate about helping individuals heal from trauma and reclaim a sense of safety, strength, and self. My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, meaning I tailor each session to your unique experiences, needs, and goals. I believe therapy is most effective when it happens in a space where you feel safe, respected, and truly heard- and that's exactly the kind of environment I strive to create.
I specialize in trauma treatment and use evidence-based methods to help you move forward in a healthy and empowered way. One of the main techniques I offer is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)- a powerful, eye-movement-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories quickly and gently. ART often brings relief in just a few sessions and doesn't require you to go into detail about painful experiences. Clients often say it helps them feel lighter, more grounded and more in control of their emotions.
In addition to trauma, I support clients working through:
Anxiety and panic
Depression
Grief and loss
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Whether you're facing a recent event or carrying the weight of the past, I'm here to support your healing journey with compassion, authenticity, and evidence-based care. Reaching out for support is a brave first step- and one you don't have to take alone. If you're ready to begin therapy or just curious about how I can help, I'd be happy to connect with you.

Julia Voeltz, LSW Clinical Intern
BRAINERD
Hi, I'm Julia. I graduated from Bemidji State University in 2014 with my bachelor's in social work and have over ten years experience in the social work field working with people across all stages of life.
I got into this field because I know all people deserve dignity and have inherent worth. I stayed in the field out of a desire to help people get to the root cause of their suffering. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed with a steady curiosity and kindness for the ups and downs life has to offer.
My ideal client is feeling a little uneasy about this whole 'therapy thing'. That's okay. We will go at your pace and break down the barriers that are holding you back from your true and confident self. If this resonates with you, I am accepting new clients and would be so privileged to join you in your journey of self-exploration.
Jessica Stauber, MSW, LGSW
MAPLE GROVE
Hey, I’m Jessica! I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) who is passionate about supporting children, teens, and their families. I believe play, creativity, humor, and authentic connection are powerful tools for healing, and I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, heard, and free to be themselves—often with laughter along the way.

I work with children and adolescents ages 3–18 and have the most experience supporting youth with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, life transitions, and behaviors that are often labeled as “challenging.” I believe all behavior is a form of communication, and every child deserves the opportunity to be understood. Sessions are child-led whenever possible, with kids guiding the work through play while I adjust my approach to meet their needs. You’ll often find me on the floor playing a game, coloring a picture, or learning from the children—after all, they are the experts on themselves.

When working with teens, I enjoy connecting through games, art projects, and online gaming—entering their world, learning their language, and building a genuine connection. I also offer parent support sessions, partnering closely with caregivers to talk through behaviors, changes, and challenges at home. I believe caregivers are an essential part of the therapeutic process, and collaboration is key to meaningful, lasting growth.

Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with family and friends, playing with my two dogs, reading, camping, and baking sweet treats. Playfulness, curiosity, and humor guide both my work and my life. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet your child where they are—with play, patience, and fun—I’d love to connect!
